4th International Summer Academy 'Sustainable Building'
Sustainable building Instruments and Assessments for new and existing buildings & neighbourhoods
16th – 26th of August 2010, Organized by TU Delft

This international TU Delft Summer Academy focuses mainly on Masterstudents in Architecture, Urbanism, Civil Engineering and Environmental Engineering Sciences, as well as on practicing professionals, experts and consultants from the building sector. This Summer Academy “Sustainable Building” will take place in the city of Almere, which is famous for its focus on sustainability of living.
Participating European students receive 3 ECTS credits + a certificate of attendance.
Themes that will be addressed in collaboration between public and private partners in the framework of lectures, workshops, excursions and discussions are amongst others:
- Basis conditions for sustainable development
- Challenges for sustainable building
- Planning approaches for sustainable urban developments
- Methods of eco-balances
- Optimization of energy and climate aspects in the design process
- Life cycle costs
- Practical application of instruments for sustainable building
